About Frankenstein.

This book was a whole lot more interesting then I expected it to be. I loved what we learned in class about Shelley and how she wrote the book. Her life influenced her book, and she had a pretty harsh life. However, what was really interesting to me was that she was inspired by her dream:) or nightmare..:o
I've had plenty of dreams, but none that have inspired me yet.. Well actually, once I had a dream where i heard a really pretty song that i hadn't heard in real life yet! (This was during the time that my parents were wanting me to write songs).. when I woke up I was so excited because I remembered everything it said and how it sounded in my dream, and I was going to write it down and then get famous with it! I even told my parents about it when I woke up and they told me that there were people that could dream their songs or just in general dream things that they could use in real life.
BUT.....
it turns out the song was already written by some famous guy.. and the reason i had dreamed with it was because my sister had the TV on while i was sleeping and that song came on!! ugh.. and here i am..NOT famous.

  1. Hahahahaha! Oh my gosh I love reading your blog posts Sheyla, your so funny!
That is soo weird how you remembered the whole song from your dream when in reality you were just listening to it while you slept!
I think that it is very sweet how your parents support you and encourage you to write songs! Someday when you do get famous don't forget me!! lol

  2. It's pretty cool actually the way that Shelley began writing this book. She started out with the idea of the creature from the nightmare, but that is only the middle of the book. She actually created the idea of reanimating dead tissue from many dreams she had of trying to bring back to life her dead daughter. Which then makes the story even creepier LOL

And sorry about the dream... kind of an awesome idea still though

  4. That is actually extremely common, we learned about it extensively in Psychology 150 with Lerch. There have been several studies done, its actually now used as a legitimate study technique. People will listen to lectures as they sleep and once they wake up, they can usually recall most of what was reviewed in the lecture. It is also used commonly when trying to learn a new language, you can also listen to that while you sleep. If you do that for extended periods of time you will be able to learn the language much faster and will not have near the amount of difficulties.
